Welcome to Lucky Ducky!

Lucky's life has always been a breeze. If Lucky wants to be good at something, he's usually very good at it. If Lucky needs something, he doesn't have to wait very long to get that thing. All of the other ducks know this and generally, they all feel lucky to have Lucky in their lives. He's dependable, confident, and a winner.

Things are easy when you're Lucky. That's how it's always been, and Lucky assumed that that's how it always would be. But when Lucky's luck runs out, his true character will be tested. In order to face down the challenges ahead of him and his friends, he'll have to rely on anything but luck…

  • Lucky

    • Clever, relentless, confident

    • His confidence is rooted in a magical compass that he’s kept secret since he was a duckling, which grants extraordinary luck

    • When his luck disappears, Lucky’s perfect world starts to unravel, prompting a profound journey of self-discovery

    • He learns to lean on his friends and be a good leader, less focused on his own glory and helping the crew shine and work together

  • Dr. Ray

    • Antagonist of the story, driven by jealousy, loneliness, and a desire for control

    • His schemes, often involving elaborate inventions, egg drones, lasers and mind control, are a constant threat to the Ducky Crew

    • Learns that not all problems can be solved with manipulation or force

  • Penelope aka Penny

    • She's the smart, common sense core to the group; the voice of reason.

    • Has a strong sense of justice, her temper comes out when she defends her friends and what she thinks is fair.

    • She gets frustrated when Lucky and the group don't listen to her (and she's usually right!)

  • Maddie + Maddie Jr

    • Maddy's best friend is Maddie Jr., a frog who she raised since finding her as a little lost tadpole

    • They both deal with anxiety so they usually stay in, working on brainy hobbies, especially making miniature accessories for Maddie Jr.

    • Must be dragged out on adventures, but eventually musters the confidence to stand up for herself and her friends

  • Lindsay aka Zees

    • They're always sleepy which can make them clumsy and bumbling

    • Works at the local juice bar, The Pulp Pit, and loves to have the Ducky Crew visit while he's working (i.e. dozing off at work)

    • Drinks his "special" Green Juice (the secret ingredient is hot sauce) to wake up and move super fast. Once it wears off, he usually needs a nap

  • Phil

    • Considers himself the ultimate gamer and is a bit of a know-it-all

    • Loves to play Duckies & Dragons but gets so wrapped up in games he is oblivious to critical info or goings-on

    • He's maxed out his gamer knowledge but needs to get some more experience in the real world

The Magic Compass

The crew discovers that it has deeper layers and undiscovered mechanisms, unlocking other abilities that lead them deeper into the mysteries of this world's magic

The World of Lucky Ducky

The Ducky Crew live in a quaint midsized town run by Duckies. The Ducky town locals rarely venture outside of the safety of their hometown, but the Ducky Crew has a daring sense of adventure, exploring to unravel the mysteries of the compass. In the lands beyond the Ducky town, there are rumors of unexplored castles, ancient temples, oceans, deserts, and magical forests…

What's the Vibe?

As Lucky and his friends embark on adventures, Lucky's bigger arc is learning about who he is as his luck changes and how to share that with his friends.

We discover many magical places and characters that are not always as they initially appear.

Emotional complexity is at the core of the story, with plenty of space for playfulness. Think Bluey meets Adventure Time with claymation ducks.
